Aylesbury Market Square turned into a hive of activity during the first week of the school holidays when a mobile farm pitched up and brought along a range of cute animals.
Wendy a pygmy goat and her 3-week-old kids were the star attraction of the day, along with lambs, ducklings, chicks, guinea pigs, rabbits and a pony. Children were given the chance to get up close and interact with the animals, and there were also opportunities to bottle feed a lamb. Staff from ‘Farms2ewe’ were on hand to talk about the animals and their welfare.
One visitor described the mobile farm as “a wonderful opportunity for my children to spend time with and enjoy the animals, especially in my home town without having to spend a small fortune travelling somewhere.”
And a local business owner said:
“It was great to see the town centre so busy, as there were go karts, Pony Cycles as well as the farm to get involved with.”
Aylesbury Town Centre & Regeneration Manager Diana Fawcett had this to say:
“We’re delighted to have had the mobile farm visit us during the Easter school holidays. And it was lovely to see so many children taking advantage of this great opportunity, and we were so lucky with the wonderful weather.
“Events are an important part of the social fabric of the town, and due to the success of the day, we’re looking to bring back the mobile farm later in the year.”
