Aylesbury Market Live will take place in Aylesbury’s historic Market Square on Friday (28 August) between 11am and 2pm. The event is an opportunity for the local market traders to showcase their businesses and the products they sell.

A live compère will chat with traders, asking them how their businesses have been affected during the pandemic and what changes they’ve had to make to adapt. Customers will join in by sharing how their shopping habits have changed during the pandemic and how they now prefer to shop.

Customers will also be able test out their local knowledge by having a go at the ‘Market Square Quiz’. This can either be completed on the spot or taken and away and brought back the following week. The quiz winner will pick up a fantastic prize: tickets for a group of up to six people to enjoy a Space Race game at Vire in Aylesbury.

Aylesbury Market Live will also give children the opportunity to take part in a colouring competition. They just need to take away the colouring pages, complete them, and then bring them back the following week and hand them to the stall holders. The winning entry will receive a goodie bag filled to the top with products donated by market traders.

Customers should also look out for the street entertainment and music – which is sure to add to the lively and welcoming atmosphere.

Steve Bowles, Buckinghamshire Council Cabinet Member for Town Centre Regeneration, commented:

“I’d strongly encourage people to come along to Aylesbury Market Live. As well as being a safe environment with social distancing and sanitising measures in place, I’m sure it’s going to be a fun and enjoyable day!”

Aylesbury market trader D&V Fashions said:

“It’s really great to see the market supporting the local traders, as well as offering fun activities and getting the public involved.”
