For a number of years, Aylesbury Market has offered a free stall to charities and non-profit groups for them to sell cakes, goods, run raffles or tombolas. The market has now collaborated with the NHS, who will be providing a range of services throughout the year on the market.

This will start with One Recovery Bucks, who will be on the market on Wednesday 27 February. This organisation is for anyone aged 18 or over who is using, or affected by the problems associated with drugs and/or alcohol. They plan to attend the market on a monthly basis.

Aylesbury Market is growing and developing to become a more inclusive social hub, and has recently achieved Dementia Friendly status. It also embraces a wide-range of activities celebrating national events, including Armed Forces Day, the Royal Wedding, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.

Over the last few years, the market has increased its popularity, and now offers a number of speciality markets, including delicious street food at the weekly Foodie Friday market, a free entry Christmas Craft & Gift Fair and a food and drink market at the canal-based Waterside Festival.

Diana Fawcett, Aylesbury Town Centre & Regeneration Manager, said:

“Aylesbury Market continues to play an important role in the social life of many local people who enjoy coming to talk to traders about their products, and also to meet up with friends for a chat over a cuppa.

“I’m so proud that we’re able to support local charities and non-profit groups. And for any of these groups looking to boost their profile, or have a meeting place with access to the public, we offer a free-of-charge market stall.”
