We welcome all children from the age of 4 up to their 13th birthday from all schools, so it’s a great place for your child to make new friends in a safe, stimulating and, above all, fun environment.

Your child can choose between structured activities and free play opportunities which take place indoors and outdoors ranging from arts and crafts, board games, table football, ball games, pool table, role play, a wide range of toys and books and much more. The secure outdoor area has a multi-use games area, football pitch, go-kart track, activity climbing frames and a Learning Lodge which enables the children to spend plenty of time in the fresh air no matter what the weather is like.

Our qualified  and DBS checked playworkers understand the importance of play, taking a keen interest in each child’s development, providing fun activities which meet each child’s social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional needs.

Caring for your children after school in our After School Club

We offer a friendly and relaxed environment for your child to enjoy after the school day.

We know and understand that most children are hungry straight after school. This is why we provide a healthy snack sat at a table so everyone can socialise and catch up. The children help clear up and are encouraged to try new foods.

After their snack, the children play with our vast range of toys, get creative at the craft table, play outdoors, and generally have lots of fun with their friends until they are collected by their parents/guardians. Our team has regular feedback sessions with the children talking about ideas for future topics, what they enjoy and what they don’t do that the team can plan effectively.

Hours

The After School Club runs from 3.15pm to 6pm Monday to Friday during term time.

Prices

£8.50 per child per session

Holiday Playschemes

Whether your child wants to come and join us for half a day, only on some days or the entire school holidays, we offer a wide range of activities that will ensure that your child has lots of fun at each and every visit.

Our friendly and experienced team of Playworkers ensure that every day is bursting with fun activities for every child.

No matter what time your child arrives with us, they will be greeted with a smile, made welcome and are able to relax and play straight away.

At about 9.30am, we have a morning meeting where we go over the safety rules and any news that the children or staff would like to share. We tell the children which adult-led crafts are available, and any special events and activities that are coming up. After the meeting the children are free to play.

We provide healthy snacks in the morning and afternoon and water is available for the children throughout the day, however you will need to provide a packed lunch for the picnic-style lunch, which is followed by organised team games for all. After team games, it’s free play again. A light snack is served at 4pm, followed by more free play until they are collected.

Queens Park Arts Centre.jpg
Queens Park, Aylesbury, HP21 7RT

Queens Park Arts Centre is the creative hub, home and heart of the arts in Aylesbury Vale.

Since opening in 1980 the Centre has developed a programme of over 70 weekly workshops in artistic disciplines such as pottery, needlework, drama, dance, woodwork, jewellery-making, painting & drawing, yoga and much more.

The majority of workshops are drop-in and pay-as-you-go, allowing students the freedom to take part when it suits them. The joy of Queens Park is the opportunity to be creative in your own time and on your own terms, with experienced tutors on hand to advise and instruct as much or as little as you require. All are welcome – complete beginners and experienced hands are invited to use the facilities.

Alongside the weekly workshops there are regular special one-day classes and short courses, exploring such activities as stained glass and blacksmithing. There are also regular holiday workshops for children, not to mention weekly classes for younger artists – so there really is something for everyone!

The Centre is also home to the Limelight Theatre, an intimate 120-seater fringe venue offering an affordable, lively programme of live music, comedy and theatre, including some of the best local talent alongside acclaimed acts from all over the country. In recent years the venue has welcomed comedians such as Chris Ramsey, Sean Hughes and Lucy Porter, as well as music from the likes of Phil Beer, Marcus Malone and local legends John Otway & Wild Willy Barrett. The Limelight is home to SDSD as well as in-house storytelling company Unbound, who stage regular theatrical productions, including the hugely-popular Queens Park Pantomime.

Queens Park also houses two gallery spaces displaying exhibitions from local, national and even international artists. Annual events at the Centre include the autumn Art & Craft Fair welcoming the region’s best artists and craftspeople, plus various other festivals and fairs throughout the year.

Other facilities include a licensed bar and coffee shop, a shop selling art supplies and a library of reference books. The Centre is a short 5-minute walk from the Town Centre. Please contact 01296 424332 / info@queensparkarts.com for a brochure.
