The Hindu community in Aylesbury celebrates an event called ‘Ganesh Utsav’ each year, where lord Ganesha is worshipped. This is a day event and as part of the ceremony the idol of lord Ganesh is immersed in a flowing stream of water / canal. Our charity – Aylesbury Hindu Temple (AHT) has been doing this at the water stream / canal near the Oakfield Park play area with the council’s approval over the past few years.
This event is very popular within and outside the community and we have had various dignitaries including Council members, MPs and others in attendance.
