The countdown is on for Aylesbury’s Whizzfizzing Festival on Saturday 1 July, and in addition to the usual free festivities, bargain tickets are still available for an array of amazing activities and interactive author workshops.

Six fascinating children’s authors will capture the imagination of lucky children and adults alike, and budding artists will love learning the secrets behind the pictures from the published illustrators. With tickets starting from just £2, these sessions are a fantastic way of giving youngsters a day to remember.

Children get the chance to create their own wild and wacky illustrations in Knife and Packer’s workshop. Each child will get their own drawing pad and expert advice from the hilarious duo, creators of officially one of the funniest children’s books of 2016 – Badly Drawn Beth.

Sing along to stand-up comedian Olaf Falafel’s side-splitting Old MacDonald Heard a Parp and learn how to draw some of Olaf’s favourite farm-yard characters.

Help award-winning Robin Stevens create a brand new mystery as you join Cream Bun and Crime characters Daisy and Hazel in their latest instalment in the Murder Most Unladylike series.

Award-winning author Rob Buddulph’s pirate adventures of Captain Blue and his friends in Sunk will capture the imagination of younger children, with drawing tips too, and bestselling Steve Cole will entertain with his Adventures in Slime and Space.

And not forgetting famous comedian Julian Clary; laughter for all the family is guaranteed with hilarious readings from his latest children’s book – The Bolds on Holiday in Julian’s unique style, and live-drawing from illustrator David Roberts.
