Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) is excited to announce the return of Aylesbury’s WhizzFizzFest, taking place on Saturday 22 June 2019.

The fabulous La Voix from Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s Peter Pan Christmas production was on hand to make the announcement – oh yes she was! Sharing her excitement for the increasingly popular event, La Voix is encouraging everyone to make a note of the date in the diary, as it’s not to be missed!

Following on from last year’s tremendous success, festival goers can expect another whizzfizzingly wonderful day for 2019. With some familiar faces alongside plenty of new and exciting things to see and do, this year’s event will be brimming with exciting celebrity author guests, engaging workshops and the famous giant puppet parade of local school children through the town centre. The day itself will be a spectacular celebration of children’s art and literature, with many ticketed and free events to attend.

Festival goers are encouraged to take inspiration from a favourite book or author, whether this be a Dahl classic, such as Fantastic Mr. Fox, a children’s favourite, such as Awful Auntie, or a gruesome pick from the Horrible Histories series. Whether you’re a local school or would just like to be involved in this year’s WhizzFizzFest there’s a whole host of opportunities available on the website.

AVDC Councillor Paul Irwin, Cabinet Member for Environment and Leisure, said: “Last year’s festival drew marvellous crowds into Aylesbury and really promoted and built on our fantastic community spirit. This year’s event is promising to be even bigger and better and we can’t wait to be able to announce the line-up for WhizzFizzFest 2019.

“Our organising committee has been working hard behind the scenes to bring another year of fantastical fun to Aylesbury so be sure to look out for a special announcement coming in the New Year bearing more exciting news and revealing one of our celebrity guests.”

More details including further special guests and ticketing will be released on Friday 1 March.
