The countdown is nearly over for WhizzFizzFest, the fantastic family-friendly festival which is taking place on Saturday 30 June in Aylesbury town centre.

In grand tradition, WhizzFizzFest will once again kick off with the festival parade involving local school children from across the Vale of Aylesbury and beyond. Headlining this year’s WhizzFizzFest is ballerina extraordinaire and Strictly Come Dancing judge, Dame Darcey Bussell. Dame Darcey will oversee a spectacular Magic of the Dance competition featuring seven local schools, as well as performing her own warm-up routine with backing dancers.

Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill and local singer and songwriter Tony Hadley will also be warmly welcomed to Aylesbury market square for a fun Q&A session. Plus, there are four fizztastic authors: David Solomons, Steve Antony, Andrew Clover and Andy Riley, joining in the celebrations and running fun and interactive workshops.

There are also some amazing free activities on this magical day, so there’s plenty to do whatever the weather! Head to the Runway in Market Square for some extraordinary entertainment, including an exclusive preview of Whistle Down the Wind, this year’s 2018 Stage Experience project.

Join Queens Park Arts centre for free arts and crafts inspired by children’s stories in Kingsbury, where you can also find inflatables, Playbus, music from HW Drums and face painting with Zoomania.

Or visit the Old County Hall for some razztwizzling entertainment from local or new authors: Mark Elvy, Darren St Mart, Glenda Seal, James Kinsey & Adam Hughes, Jill Stanton-Huxton and Christine Tennent. Reading extracts from their books, these wonderful writers will bring a whole new world of magic and mystery to the town.

Tickets are available to purchase online up to midnight on Thursday 28 June. After this time, any remaining tickets will only be available on the day at two designated sales points in Aylesbury Market Square and Hale Leys marquee.
