Tues 25 July & Tues 15 Aug – Move Your Feet
Make a fun card model of a pair of moving feet that travels across the floor
Wed 26 July & 16 Aug – Wriggle Your Fingers
Make a fun card model of your hand with moving fingers when the ‘tendons’ are pulled. This activity is fiddly and children need good dexterity.
Thurs 27 July & 17 Aug – Catapult Challenge
Make a basic catapult, thinking about how levers help us allow machines to work. How far can your catapult throw?
Tues 1 Aug & 23 Aug – Robots
Make a wooden robot model with moving arms and legs. Some fiddly parts and knot tying so may not be suitable very children younger than 7 without adult support.
Wed 2 Aug – Pop-up Puppets
A simple craft activity especially suited to younger children. Create a card puppet that will pop up when the handle is pushed.
Thurs 3 Aug & 24 Aug – Diving Dolphins
A trickier activity involving levers. Create an dolphin or creature of your choice that dives when a lever is pulled.
Tues 8 Aug & 29 Aug – Balloon Ride
Make a card balloon that rises up. Some fiddly parts and knot tying so but aspects that all children can take part in with some adult support.
Wed 9 Aug & 30 Aug – Running Around
Use paper plates to create a simple model of a person running on the spot. Suitable for younger children.
Thurs 10 Aug & 31 Aug – Fun with Cams
Make a card model involving cams and turning mechanisms. This craft activity is tricky and instructions need to be followed carefully.
Fri 11 Aug & 18 Aug – Wooden Superhero Acrobat
Make a wooden acrobat. The painting is easy, but putting the acrobat together is tricky and will need some adult support.
Mon 14 Aug & 21 Aug – Wooden Jumping Superhero
Paint and decorate a wooden jumping super hero. Decorating is for any age, but adult support will be needed to attach the string.
23 Aug – Jack in the Box
Create a card Jack in the Box that will pop up when the lid is lifted. Some tricky parts but easy enough with adult support.
Fri 1 Sept – Superhero Craft Fun
You will be able to choose two of the below activities when you arrive:
– Paint and craft your own Super Hero Cape. Suitable for all children.*
– Decorate your own mask. Suitable for all children.*
– Paint a Super Hero Money Box. Suitable for all children.*
– Make your own Super Hero out of pipe cleaners and beads. Suitable for older children or with adult support.**
