Bucks Heroes and the well-being Art Group from SPACE charity have partnered together to create an amazing exhibition of all the work that has been created since November 2022 in weekly workshops.
From November 2022 to July 2023 the SPACE community have been visiting the museum, viewing our collections and working with several local artists from across Buckinghamshire to focus on different materials and drawing techniques to build confidence. These workshops have included spending time with a commercial illustrator and an Indian Folk Artist.
All the weekly activities in the art group are inspired by Discover Bucks Museum. This has included Buckinghamshire’s heritage or the natural landscape. The group have connected creatively with the museum space, the permanent displays, temporary exhibitions, and the collection. This has included visiting the museum collection store to choose social history objects to feature in this display.
The aim of the project was for the SPACE community to feel ownership over the museum, to be inspired by the museum collection, to try out new activities and to share their own story with others to inspire them.
