The workshop will provide the opportunity to create a clay hands or feet sculpture from a life model in the studio. The workshop will enable you to learn about modelling in clay from life, using traditional formal sculpting techniques. More advanced participants will be able to explore techniques in modelling of abstraction and increased porosity if they wish.
You will be shown how to decorate works once finished and will be able to either take away their works unfired to decorate once hard, or to leave them for firing to collect at a later date. (Depending on size of work, you may need to complete hollowing out work at a later date, but will be shown how to do this so that larger works can still be fired successfully.)
No prior experience is required or skill in arts or crafts.
Suitable for adults and students aged 16+.
